About Backyard Bug Out

Most people think “bugging out” means disappearing into the woods with a backpack. Truth is, most of us live in neighborhoods, have jobs, families, and backyards. That’s why I started Backyard Bug Out — to show that preparedness doesn’t have to be extreme or complicated. It can start right where you’re standing.

This blog is about practical, no-nonsense prepping:

  • Storing water without needing a bunker.

  • Building a bug out bag without spending a fortune.

  • Turning your backyard into a launchpad if you ever need to move fast.

  • Practicing simple skills so they’re second nature when it counts.

I’m not here to sell fear. I’m here to share ideas, test things out, and hopefully give you a few tips you can use right away. If you’re like me, you just want to know your family’s covered if life throws a curveball.

So stick around, try out some of the tips, and build your own version of a backyard bug out plan. It doesn’t matter where you live or how much gear you have — the point is to start.
